Packing Guide: Engagement Party in New York

This weekend’s beauty packing needs to cover me for a friendship reunion and surprise engagement party for our bestie.

I know I will likely sleep in my makeup at least once (it’s always better to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready) and I’m already thinking about the smack of smoggy air on my skin once I step off the plane.

Of all my skincare, I’m bringing along the following travel-friendly essentials:

BlackGirlSunscreen

This is obvious, but still needs to be said. You should be wearing sunscreen every single day, but especially when you’re about to spend time on an airplane - closer to the sun- where the person in the window seat hogging the armrest that is rightfully yours insists on keeping the shade up the entire flight.

TOPICALS Faded Gel

Hyperpigmentation is my forever battle and the fight can’t stop just because I’m on a trip. Additionally, this gel serum also serves as an antioxidant which is imperative for beating back the damaging effects of pollution and free radicals in the city streets.

Dr. Dennis Gross Daily Peel Pads

I always pack a breakout buster on trips where I anticipate boozy times, no sleep and slept-in makeup. Unlike most of my skincare, these pads are one of the easier items to bring through an airport and back again making it a no-brainer in the bag!

Skin Proud Frozen Over Moisturizer

It’s fall, but the weather is still on the nicer side in NYC. Pair that with a sweaty subway ride and it’s better to pack a lighter weight moisturizer that still delivers on hydration.

Youth to the People Superberry Cleansing Balm

When I finally get around to a proper cleanse, this cleansing balm is doing the trick when removing all of my makeup. My only qualm is the beautiful packaging takes up so much real-estate in my dopp bag.

Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore Moisturizer

This is a must-have moisturizer for colder evening and winter weather. More importantly, it replenishes the exact ratio of emollients your skin naturally creates making it perfect for a weekend of slipping habits!
